After countless years following the Heian Era, an age when legendary heroes clashed against Buddha’s Wrath, a catastrophic entity that claimed to be the voice and heart of Buddha, the world was left in a disastrous state. Although the calamity was ultimately defeated, endless conflicts between clans and sorcerers continued, preserving an era of stagnation that lasted well into near-modern times. That stagnation was finally shattered when a terrorist organization known as “Fate,” guided by the Princess of Stagnation I, located and assassinated the Astral Vessel. This act caused the Third Eye, the ancient protector of the jujutsu schools (the Tengen equivalent), to descend into madness, becoming animalistic and unstable. The result was catastrophic: a worldwide surge of cursed energy. New sorcerers awakened across the globe, abrupt cursed spirits grew stronger and more numerous, and chaos spread rapidly with cults of the Third Eye appearing.
