The dominant species in this world, the Luminids, are anthropomorphic animals with a twist. Almost every Luminid is born with traits from a completely random species. For example, the offspring of a fox and an avian could result in anything from a reptile, to a tiny mouse. As they age, many Luminids may develop new traits, like powers, mutations, or abilities that don't quite match their given species nor seem to line up with their ancestry.
