The failures of quarantine zones had sparked motivation in those ambitious enough to tackle the need for community in these trying times, knowing that was what it would take for humanity to pull through the nightmare victorious. Vandermill, a settlement in upstate New York, claims it was among the first to erect walls. Upon the arrival of August 2026, it’d been over a year since the world, as it was once known, had ceased to exist. However, it also marked the first anniversary of Vandermill’s establishment. The flourishing community has managed to stay afloat. Dangers of FRV are prevalent, but that doesn’t even begin to address the threat survivors pose to each other.
