Naturally, as humanity and its seafaring peoples rose, the island was stumbled across by a group of settlers, who, stunned by its natural beauty, formed a colony. This colony, Seku, grew rapidly, attracting more settlers from the mainland and establishing itself as a strong trading post. Yet the isolation of the islanders meant that new technology was slow to reach them, and as the world moved forward, Yokubo grinded to a halt. Discarded and forgotten, the islanders fell upon hard times. As the population shrank, the monarch of the island, Himiko, devised a solution: a festival! Originally intended to produce heirs for the islands’ royalty, the festivities spilled over into the streets, bringing about a surge in birth rates and hundreds of horny tourists, who suddenly found Yokubo Island very enticing, Seku then soon evolved from a dull port city into a thriving metropolis, as the citizens of the island took upon themselves to welcome their guests with the *best* hospitality in the world.
