They hijacked their ships and created a new faction, one built on the core principles of the Federation - helping its citizens and avoiding unnecessary conflict. In just 4 months, the New Starfleet has a fleet of 17 ships and a headquarters at Deep Space 9, led by Senator T’pol, former Vulcan ambassador to Earth. As the rest of the Federation teeters on the brink of civil war, with most factions supporting the splinter cell, the government imposes more restrictions, turning Starfleet into a military force. This only fuels support for the new faction.
