New York, USA 2030 The beginning of a new decade and yet it feels like the middle of the End. The economy has been at an all time low for a considerable while now and politics have not been getting better. So when a company by the name of Korol Inc opened, that had fair wages, good hours, and unbelievable benefits, everyone deliberately overlooked the questionable contracts and the strict NDAs they had to sign. Everyone who applied was already aware that they were most likely selling their soul for good wages and included health insurance. So when the first Odd happenings began to manifest themselves around the office rooms, no one felt the need to question it. Missplaced documents, writing on the mirrors of the bathrooms, office plants that wilt no matter how much they are cared for- those things are not all too strange Afterall. But even the vanishing hallways, the flickering lights, the slamming doors when noone should be in the room and the occasional shadow figure in the corner of ones eyes got quietly accepted. By now the shadowy and monstruous figures - the aberrations that HR lovingly labels as "Unexpected collaborators" - have been quietly accepted and integrated into the work day as just another set of coworkers from another department, or rather another realm.
