What is the New Youth - To be a youth with the wisdom of an old person is what the Chinese call it; the words that encourage aging without growing old are also different thoughts between Eastern and Western nations. Is youth like early spring, like the morning sun, like the budding of countless flowers, like the sharpness of a new blade? It is the most precious time of life. Youth in society is like fresh and lively cells in the body. Metabolism is the natural process, and the stale and decayed cells are constantly being naturally eliminated, leaving space and time for the fresh and lively ones. The body following the path of metabolism is healthy, while the filled stale and decayed cells lead to the death of the body; society following the path of metabolism is prosperous, but if filled with stale and decayed cells, it leads to the death of society. With this in mind, is our society flourishing, or will it perish? This is not something that I can bear to say. Those stale and decayed elements are avoiding the natural elimination process, hoping to rejuvenate somehow with the flow of time. I only want to urge the fresh and lively youth to awaken and struggle! What is awakening? It is the awareness of the value and responsibility of being fresh and lively, without seeing oneself as insignificant. What is struggling? It is striving with intelligence, pushing away the stale and decayed, seeing it as an enemy, like a flood or a wild beast, and not wanting to be near it, not wanting to be infected by its poison. Alas! Can our youth speak up to this? I have seen youth in age, but elderly in bodies, in five out of ten people; youth in age or body, but elderly in minds, in nine out of ten. Their hair is lustrous, their faces radiant, their posture straight, their chests broad, not unlike the look of youth; but when one taps into their minds, their thoughts and aspirations, not one is different from those who are stale and decayed. They were once fresh and lively, but after rest and leave, they have been assimilated by the stale and decayed, or they fear the might of the stale and decayed, and looking back, they dare not openly confront and fight. The air in society is filled with staleness and decay, and anyone who seeks a bit of freshness to relieve our suffocating despair is hard to find. Following this phenomenon, it will lead to death in the body and society. Wanting to save this disease cannot be achieved through sighing and lamenting, but through a few who are keen on awakening, brave in the struggle, to exert the inherent intelligence of humanity. They must choose various thoughts, and who is fresh and lively and suitable for the survival of this world, and who is stale and decayed and must not be kept in mind. Sharp blades cut iron, swift swords cut hemp, deciding without compromise, judging others as well, society may find a peaceful day. Youth, is there anyone willing to take on this responsibility? If you are clear about right and wrong and offer choices, please carefully consider the following six principles. - Independent, not enslaved - Progressive, not conservative - Forward-looking, not retiring - Global, not isolationist - Practical, not empty words - Scientific, not imaginary -
