💫 Welcome to Romantic Mystique! A Genshin Impact soulmate au that takes place in canon lore. Our story begins thousands of years ago when the concept of soulmates first became a thing. At first, they were disregarded as useless, until Celestia had found a use for these soulmates that would appear. They were determined randomly, by custom soulmates given at birth. These soulmates were used to keep others in check, as harming someone’s soulmate could lead to the other person possibly sustaining injury; or worse, death if said soulmate was killed. Although each had different soulmarks, they were all marked the same way. A piece of their soul belonged to the other making it extremely easy for these bonds to be manipulated and used for the advantage of others and that’s exactly what happened. Leading up to the Archon War, the number of soulmates rapidly went down as they perished. That leads us to where we are now; the present!
