The reasons for this vary, depending on whom is asked; Vaeron was weak, or corrupt, or the usurper was hateful, or ambitious. It was a hollow victory; Baemond never fully recovered from the war, pained by dragonfire burns until his death a decade later. 𝐍ow his son is king, and the deposed heirs of the former King Vaeron hide in Dorne, the land of their mother. It would be worrisome enough that they yet live, but the sands also whisper that the heirs have dragons of their own.
