It's existence is known to only those who reside within it, kept secret by a font of power residing far beneath the city which creates a veil that encompasses the city and a couple hundred miles of forests and ocean surrounding it. Those that pass through the veil lose all memory of the area once they exit the other side, but not all who enter leave and those who find themselves here often forget where they came from or where they were going. Those born within Blackwater find it even hard if not impossible to leave and spend their whole lives exploring and surviving in the concrete jungle.
